The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children provides a range of services for blind and visually impaired children ranging from an Early Learning Program, through preschool and school aged services. They have centres in Sydney, North Parramatta, Nepean, the Hunter Valley as well as Regional and Remote services. There are specific schools that cater for the blind but in many cases the support is part of mainstream schooling.

Schools that specialise in certain subjects
Music : The Conservatorium High School (www.conservat-h.schools.nsw.edu.au ) is NSW’s only specialist music high school and is the secondary arm of the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney. However there are a variety of schools which have a strong musical slant and offer music scholarships.
