Amuse may not look like anything special from the outside but venture inside and it’s a different story. Voted Restaurant of the year a few years ago, this is the place foodies, who appreciate innovative degustation menus, should head to. Menus are based on a massive list of ingredients (dependent on the season) and you can let them know of any dietary requirements and they can tailor the menu to suit. Open Tues-Sat for dinner only.

Greenhouse is decorated with a vertical garden, in keeping with its name, was built on sustainable principles and serves wonderful fresh seasonal produce. The concept may be earnest but this restaurant is also stylish and fun, with a buzzy rooftop floor (that grows its own produce) and an exciting menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner (think organic, free range, bio dynamic). The guilt-free way to eat well right in the centre of Perth.

La Cholita is a super fun Mexican with a vast array of tequilas and delicious food perfect for sharing. The tostadas get our vote – bite size and busting with flavour. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere make this a great spot for a fun night out.

The Old Brewery offers classic fine dining and generous sizes in a lovely waterfront setting. Famous for its steaks, if you are feeling brave (and ravenous) try the vast Tomahawk rib eye that is carved at the table and serves two.

Mr Munchies Sushi is a fun, colourful find in Beaufort Street’s arcade where you can design your own bespoke sushi roll from a selection of ingredients listed on chalkboards. Authentic Japanese mixed in with some contemporary, non traditional additions make this a spot for purists and those who like to mix it up a bit.
