Cottesloe Beach- is about 15 minutes out of the city and is Perth’s equivalent to Bondi Beach. Not really a secret but definitely deserves a mention as it’s a beautiful stretch of coastland, is safe for the kids, offers shady, grassy slopes and plenty of cafes and kiosks to keep everyone happy.
Bennion Beach is 30 minutes from the city and a quieter option to the popular Trigg Beach near by. The sand is ridiculously white and the water clear and ideal for snorkelling.
Lucky Bay is hidden away, half way along the coastal walk through Cape Le Grand National Park. It is a lovely deserted beach (bar the odd fisherman or kangaroo catching some rays). The National park is located 50km south east of Esperance and is a popular spot for camping if you want to make a weekend of it.
