Bunker Coffee (21 Railway Terrace, Milton), is located in a converted domestic garage with ivy strewn walls and makes a great cup of coffee – the location may be small but this café is perfectly formed. Campos Coffee Mandoo St (Pink Building, 887 Ann St, Fortitude Valley) serves consistently good coffee, a decent breakfast and has outdoor seating so you can enjoy your caffeine fix al fresco.

Room 60 is a cosy neighbourhood bar that is one part quirky and two parts hip. Vintage Furniture, specially brewed beers, deconstructed cocktails and flattering lighting – doesn’t try too hard. If you are just looking for an unpretentious drink and some decent tunes head to Canvas, which is offers great service, good drinks and delicious tapas.
